Wayne: 1-Year-Old Tested Positive For Coronavirus In August
Mayor Christopher Vergano gave his monthly coronavirus report on Saturday, Aug. 29, and reported only one new death for the month.
WAYNE, NJ — Early on in the pandemic, it was a daily occurrence to watch Wayne Township Mayor Christopher Vergano, seated behind a desk, look into a camera and provide the township with coronavirus statistics.
As things have gotten better, that occurrence has become less frequent.
On Saturday, Vergano was back, however, to deliver his now monthly coronavirus update.

According to Vergano, 76 people tested positive for the coronavirus, two more than in July, but as of Aug. 29 only one person, an 83-year-old nursing home resident, died in August.
The youngest person to test positive during the month of August, Vergano said, was one-year-old.
