Wayne Budget Vote Postponed With Two Council Members Absent

WAYNE, NJ — Not enough Wayne Township Council members were present to make the crucial vote on next year's municipal budget at a public hearing May 17.

Council members decided to move the vote on the proposed $94.5 million budget to their June 7 meeting.

Jon Ettman, who represents the 6th Ward, and councilwoman at-large Jill Sasso could not be present due to personal reasons, said Richard Jasterzbski (1st Ward).

The budget increase would mean the highest municipal tax increase for Wayne since 2008, officials said. Read more about the proposed budget here.
