Wayne Driver Hits Woman Walking With Granddaughter In Crosswalk: Police
Cedar Grove police cited a Wayne woman for allegedly failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

A Wayne woman struck a 61-year-old Cedar Grove woman with her car while she attempted to cross the street with her six-year-old granddaughter last week, authorities reported.
According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, the incident took place around 5:38 p.m. on Dec. 3, as the woman and her granddaughter were crossing Pompton Avenue. The pair were in the crosswalk with a green light when a 2011 BMW attempted a left turn from West Bradford Avenue to Pompton Avenue northbound, striking them and knocking the woman to the ground.
The victim’s granddaughter was drug to the ground in the collision, but was not hit by the car or injured, police stated.

The Cedar Grove Ambulance & Rescue Squad treated the victim at the scene and transported her to Mountainside Hospital for a non-life threatening injury, police said.
Authorities charged the driver with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, police stated.
