Wayne Gets Defibrillator From Atlantic Health System
The device will be placed at the Waks Field complex.

WAYNE, NJ — Atlantic Health System donated a defibrillator to the township recently.
The automated external defibrillator (AED) will be placed at the fieldhouse at the Waks athletic fields. The fields are used extensively by the Wayne Police Athletic League, Wayne Boys & Girls Club, the Wayne Little League and local schools.
The defibrillator was donated as part of Project Heartbeat, a program developed by Atlantic Health System to empower communities with the training, equipment and confidence needed to respond to cardiac emergencies, an Atlantic Health System spokesperson said. The device providers users with instructions on how to deliver an electric shock to get a heart beating normally after a cardiac event.
