Wayne Man Accused Of Beating Puppy To Death Pleads Not Guilty: Report
John G. Varcadipone, 23, was fighting with his girlfriend for hours before police arrived at their home Monday.

WAYNE, N.J. - The man accused of physically abusing his girlfriend and killing her 6-month-old husky puppy plead not guilty to the charges in Superior Court Monday, The Record reported.
John G. Varcadipone, 23, argued with his girlfriend for hours, terrorizing her in their Travelo Drive trailer by beating the dog to death with a kitchen chair while she hid in the next room, the report said. He also allegedly bit her ear, banged her head against the wall, and assaulted her brother, according to the report.

A public defender entered a plea of not guilty at the arraignment Monday, which Varcadipone appeared at by videoconference, according to the report. Varcadipone was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and making terroristic threats. He remains in the Passaic County Jail on $75,000 bail.
Varcadipone was also charged with cruelty to an an animal resulting in death. The Passaic County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was notified of the incident and responded to the scene.

it is not the first time Varcadipone's has been charged. He plead guilty to possession of gamma hydroxybutyrate, a date rape drug. He was sentenced to three years of probation in May 2015.
A pre-indictment conference on the case will be held April 6.
