Wayne Native Finishes Tied For 20th At U.S. Women's Open
Marina Alex finished off the final round with three birdies. She was in first place after the first day of play.

Marina Alex, who ended the first day of the U.S. Women’s Open in second place, finished the event tied for 20th place.
Alex entered the final day of play at 1-over par and looked to be on the right track after a birdie on the second hole, but followed it up with two bogeys and a double bogey to finish the event at 2-over par.
Alex won slightly more than $48,000 for finishing 20th in the event, LPGA.com reports.

It was Alex’s second appearance in the championship event. The Wayne Hills High School alumnus competed in her first U.S. Women’s Open in 2009 as an amateur.
Alex won the New Jersey High School Girls’ State Championship by a record eight shots and was the runner up for the New Jersey State Amateur in 2005.
