Wayne Police Stepping Up DWI, Traffic Patrols This Week
Department is participating in the Passaic County Aggressive Driving Task Force Wednesday.

WAYNE, N.J. — The police department will be cracking down on DWIs this week as part of a concentrated effort to keep motorists safe this Thanksgiving.
Extra officers will be on patrol for DWI enforcement, said Traffic Bureau commander Lt. Daniel Daly said. This is made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety Drunk Driving Enforcement Fund.
The department will participate in the Thanksgiving Eve Passaic County Aggressive Driving Task Force. Extra officers will be dedicated to stopping drivers for various violations, including speeding, tailgating, improper lane changes, and others that increase the likelihood of serious motor vehicle crashes, Daly said.
