"Filling positions from within means that while there may be change of name for the person serving in a position, the educational philosophy will be consistent with the rest of the administrative team," said Superintendent Mark Toback. "That translates directly into continuity for students, staff and our parents where continuity is so important."

Weir has worked for the district for 14 years. She started at Wayne Hills as chair of the health, physical education and fine and performing arts program. She was promoted to assistant principal in 2008 and principal in 2012.

"Through her transformative leadership, Wayne Hills has continued its tradition of providing students with stellar academic classes, enriching programs in the arts and winning athletic programs," Toback said.

Rewick was hired in 2000, starting as a history teacher at Wayne Hills before being promoted to dean of students and finally to assistant principal in 2013. He has brought new courses, including a robotics class, to the school and created dual enrollment courses students can take and earn college credit.

Mignanelli has worked in Wayne for seven years. He was a social studies and psychology teacher at Wayne Valley High School for five years. He was promoted to assistant principal of Schuyler-Colfax Middle School in 2015.

He has been acting principal of the school since Dec. 15. Migananelli said he feels "privileged to lead the development of the minds" of the next generation and the future of society.
