Wayne Schools Delayed With Winter Storm Approaching

There will not be testing for high school students as the district is on a 90-minute delay, school officials said.

WAYNE, NJ — With snow and wind in the forecast overnight, Wayne Public Schools said it would operate on a 90-minute delay Tuesday.

Gov. Phil Murphy also declared a state of emergency in Passaic County and four other northern NJ states as of 8 p.m. Monday night, in case any communities require speedy state assistance. Wayne is forecast to get between one and three inches of snow, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.

Buses will also run on a 90-minute delay. Before Care is at 8:45 a.m., the district said.

The delay means that high school students start at 8:50 a.m., middle school students at 9:30 a.m., and elementary students at 10:25 a.m. There will not be testing for high school students, the district said.

Morning and full-day preschool classes will report at 9:50 a.m. with afternoon preschool coming in at 12:45 a.m.
