Wayne Schools Launches Tip Line To Help Curb Bullying, Threats Of Violence
The district partnered with school-safety company Gaggle. Here's how the new SpeakUp for Safety tip line works.
WAYNE, NJ — Wayne Township Public Schools partnered with school-safety company Gaggle to launch a new tip line for reporting bullying and threats of violence. The SpeakUp for Safety tip line allows students to report imminent concerns that affect their well-being, according to the district.
Gaggle safety professionals will monitor tips 24/7, all year long. The company will reroute non-life-threatening tips to designated school or district employees. In severe situations, district-appointed contacts will receive an immediate notification to take action.
The targeted launch is set for the end of May, said Superintendent Dr. Mark Toback.

The tip line integrates directly with Google Workspace for Education, which students already access daily, district officials said. Students don't need to download an app or remember a phone number.
"We are thrilled to build on our existing partnership with Gaggle to offer this important reporting tool for our students," Toback said. "Gaggle software has been successfully used for years to monitor network activity and has proven to be invaluable in helping the district work with families through numerous crisis situations."
