Wayne's Greg Olsen Headed To Super Bowl 50

The former first-round draft pick played high school football at Wayne Hills.

WAYNE, NJ - Wayne’s Greg Olsen will play in Super Bowl 50 Feb. 7 at Levi’s Stadium in California.

Playing in the Super Bowl caps off a tremendous year for the tight end, now in his ninth-year in the league.

Olsen has been the go-to receiver this season for quarterback and MVP candidate Cam Newton. Olsen posted career highs in receiving yards, 1,104, and yards per catch, 14.3. He also had seven touchdowns, the second best total of his career.

Olsen had a career year off the field too. He was a nominee for the National Football League’s Walter Peyton Man of the Year Award. The award was established in 1970. It was renamed in 1999 after the late Hall of Fame Chicago Bears running back, Walter Payton. Each team nominates one player who has had a significant positive impact on his community.

Olsen is the founder of the Receptions For Research Foundation, a non-profit that raises money to hospital to help patients suffering from cardiovascular disease and cancer.

Olsen played college football at the University of Miami and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2007. He was traded to the Panthers in 2010 for a third-round draft pick.
