Yankees, YES Network Return To Comcast

The agreement marks the Bronx Bombers' return to the cable provider after Comcast pulled the network in November 2015.

New York Yankees fans and New Jersey Comcast subscribers can rejoice at seeing the Bronx Bombers this upcoming baseball season.

According to published reports, the YES Network will return to Comcast and Xfinity customers after a contract dispute between Comcast led the cable provider to pull the network from its lineup in November 2015. The deal was announced Monday.

There was not a lot of progress in the ongoing talks between YES and Comcast, according to dslreports.com. Comcast said YES wanted too much money, and that there few too few people to watch the content to demand such a price.

The new agreement with Fox Networks Group also allows Comcast to continue carrying Fox News Channel and 12 regional sports networks.

Comcast has more than 1 million New Jersey subscribers.

“We always said that we would continue to evaluate whether there was a way to bring back the YES Network under terms that are consistent with our commitment to providing the best programming at the best possible price," said Jennifer Bilotta, a Comcast spokesperson. "Our year-end discussions with FOX gave us a chance to revisit this, and we were able to reach an overall agreement for FOX News Channel, 12 FOX RSNs, and YES Network that makes sense for both of us — and most importantly, our customers.”

In addition to Yankees games, YES carries Brooklyn Nets games and other shows, including Yankees Hot Stove and The Joe Girardi Show and simulcasts The Michael Kay Show.
