Man Killed In Accident On Route 1 Identified: Police

Police have also determined that weather and road conditions weren't a factor in the accident.

WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ - The 32-year-old Plainsboro man who was killed when his car was sent roof-first into a tree on Route 1 Monday night has been identified.

Adam L. Goldenberg was driving a gray 2008 Infiniti G35 north on Route 1 approaching The Square at West Windsor at about 9:33 p.m. Monday night, West Windsor police said.

His car struck the concrete traffic divider/barrier before going into the center lane and striking a silver 2017 Hyundai Elantra driven by 29-year-old Zain Ahmed, of North Brunswick, who was driving in the same direction.

The Infiniti struck the back corner of the Hyundai, sending it sliding nose first into the traffic barrier, police said. The Infiniti went off the road to the right, striking a PSE&G utility pole and becoming airborne and tilted. As a result, it struck a tree roof first.

Goldenberg was pronounced dead on the scene. Ahmed and his wife who was a passenger in the car, were not injured, police said.
