2 More West Deptford Residents Die Of Coronavirus

As of Tuesday, 930 West Deptford residents have tested positive for the coronavirus and 26 have died since the pandemic began.

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — Two more West Deptford residents have died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Gloucester County officials announced on Tuesday.

An 88-year-old woman and an 84-year-old man, both from West Deptford, were among seven new coronavirus-related deaths announced in Gloucester County on Tuesday.

The other deaths included an 88-year-old Paulsboro man; two 90-year-old Deptford men; a 67-year-old Westville woman; and a 58-year-old Glassboro man.

As of Tuesday, 930 West Deptford residents have tested positive for the coronavirus and 26 have died since the pandemic began, according to data provided by the Gloucester County Health Department.

On Tuesday, 12 West Deptford residents were among the 157 new cases reported countywide. Trace investigations are underway. The West Deptford cases included:

  • A 25-year-old man;
  • A 24-year-old man;
  • Two 17-year-old boys;
  • A 54-year-old man;
  • A 58-year-old woman;
  • A 76-year-old man;
  • A 52-year-old woman;
  • A 13-year-old boy;
  • A 53-year-old man;
  • A 45-year-old woman; and
  • A 27-year-old man.

As of Friday, Gloucester County has seen 14,212 cases and 387 deaths since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

Gloucester County has conducted 119,115 total tests. Of these tests, 104,903 have come back negative.

Gloucester County is expecting the number of cases to increase. Officials remind residents that social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.
