NJ Mother Killed Her Child, Left Remains In Yard: Cops (UPDATED)
UPDATED: The 23-month-old child's remains were found in the mother's yard hours after he was reported missing, authorities said.
A South Jersey mother was charged this weekend with killing her 23-month old child, authorities said. The charges come hours after the child was reported missing and his remains were found in her yard.
The Cumberland County Jail released a photo of Nakira M. Griner, 24, of Bridgeton after her arrest on Saturday.

Griner was charged hours after reporting to the Bridgeton City Police Department at 6:36 p.m. on Friday that her child, Daniel Griner Jr., was abducted, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday, the child's remains were located in the yard of 21 Woodland Drive in Bridgeton, the home of Nakira Griner, according to the CCPO.
Based on the investigation, Nakira Griner was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree desecration of human remains, and fourth-degree tampering with evidence. Griner has been lodged in the Cumberland County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Daniel Griner Jr. was initially reported to be missing, with his descripton saying he was 2 feet 8 inches tall, 40 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing Santa Claus pajamas with red edging on clothing, according to the description.
