Crash Kills Man After He's Flown To South Jersey Hospital: Police
The deceased driver failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle, authorities said.
PITTSGROVE, NJ — A man died after crashing into another vehicle and getting flown to the hospital Wednesday in Salem County, authorities said.
The collision happened at 9:45 p.m. on Route 40 in Pittsgrove Township.
A Pontiac LeMans, an older car model, was traveling west while a Chevrolet Silverado went east, according to State Police. As both approached the intersection with County Route 553, the Pontiac driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic and made a left turn in the Chevy's path, causing the crash, authorities said.

The Pontiac driver — Steven Tomaszewski, 57, of Elmer — was ejected from his car and sustained serious injuries, police said. After getting airlifted to a local hospital, Tomaszewski succumbed to his injuries early Thursday.
The Chevy driver's injuries were minor.
