The Massachusetts champs scored twice in the first and tacked on another three runs in the second, as Stony Brook committed an error and misplayed a line drive that turned into a double for Quincy's Andrew Jaehnig. Quincy managed just three hits after the first two frames, but the early damage was enough. Madison Barnwell earned the win in 2-2/3 innings of relief work. Tom Garland went 2-for-4 with three runs scored to pace the offense. Stony Point loaded the bases in the fourth and sixth innings, but only found futility, including a double play to end their threat in the sixth. Quincy will face Waldo County, ME at 2 p.m. on Saturday, while Stony Point will wait to find out its opponent for a Sunday elimination game slated for 2 p.m.
