UPDATE: Who Won Big on Primary Day in West Deptford?
Voters cast ballots in county and federal primary elections on Tuesday.

West Deptford, NJ -- On the same night Hillary Clinton appeared to clinch the Democratic nomination in this year's presidential election, U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross (D-1) turned back a challenge from a Bernie Sanders activist from Camden County.
Norcross defeated progressive activist Alex Law by capturing 70 percent of the vote in Tuesday night's Democratic Primary for New Jersey's First Congressional District seat, according to the unofficial results.
He can now turn his focus to Bob Patterson, who ran unopposed for the Republican nomination.

“I am humbled by the support I have received throughout my career and tonight is no different," Norcross said in a statement Tuesday night. "I cannot thank enough the hundreds of people who volunteered for my campaign and the tens of thousands who voted for me today. I look forward to winning in November and continuing the fight for South Jersey’s families in Congress for another term. I am proud to belong to a party that believes everyone deserves a chance at the American Dream, that our diversity is our strength, education should be affordable and accessible to all, and that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”
"Our analysis showed that we needed between 15-18k votes to win this election. We are going to end up with over 20k. It wasn't enough unfortunately as the turnout was 50% higher than ever in the history of this district," Law said in a Facebook post. "But in good news, our cost per vote was about $3.43 whereas Norcross was at $40+ when you lump in his Super PAC. To me, that's important, because it proves our model works. We reached more people more efficiently than any campaign in the country. For that, I am incredibly proud."

During the primary, Norcross received the endorsements of President Barack Obama and dozens of groups and elected officials from across the District, including environmental leaders, seniors’ advocates, workers, LGBT and women’s rights organizations.
“As someone who literally worked in trenches and on the tops of bridges and high power lines, it is truly humbling to take that real world experience to our nation’s capital — a place that always needs a good dose of middle class common sense and can-do spirit,” said Norcross, a longtime electrician and union business agent from Pennsuaken.
Two more "establishment" Democrats emerged victorious in the four-person race for the party's nominations for two open Board of Chosen Freeholder seats in November's general elections.
Frank DiMarco and Dan Christy defeated Nancy Wang and Elizabeth Chapparo to capture the nominations. DiMarco won 33.69 percent of the vote, and Christy won 29.94 percent.
They will face Carol King-Sammons and Jack Scheidell, who ran for the Republican nominations unopposed, in November.
