South Jersey Derby Chili Cook Off
- Where/When: Derby Den–1120 Crown Point Rd., Westville, NJ. 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 16.
- What’s Going On: Support your local roller derby with a good ole fashioned chili cook off! All of your favorites from the league will be testing their culinary skills in three categories: hottest, vegetarian and white chili. Admission at this outdoor event pays for chili sampling, beer, soda, desserts prizes and live entertainment from Afterhours All-Stars and Rising Sun.
- Pricing: $20 for adults over 21 and $10 for anyone under 21.
Dapp at The Pour House

- Where/When: The Pour House–124 Haddon Ave., Westmont, NJ. 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 16
- What’s Going On: Cherry Hill native Dapp brings his catchy, dynamic sounds to the penultimate South Jersey beer bar. He is currently touring the area with the killer power trio of Derek Smith on drums and Todd Pritchard on guitar in support of his first solo EP Alone at Last. Dapp was originally a contributing member to bands like The Blue Method and The BurnDown All-Stars.
- Pricing: Entrance is free—the beer is not.
Bat Boy the Musical
- Where/When: Villanova Theater–Lancaster Avenue and Ithan Avenue, 108 Vasey Hall, Villanova, PA 19085. 8 p.m. on Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16. 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 17.
- What’s Going On: Don’t miss the last weekend of this hilarious tongue-in-cheek musical taken from the headlines of yesteryear’s tabloids. This wild tale of a half-human half-bat found in a West Virginia cave will have you laughing and rocking out to a mix of rock, pop, gospel, Broadway and country.
- Pricing: $21-$25 a ticket

- Where/When: The Annenburg Center, Harold Prince Theater–3680 Walnut St., Philadelphia, PA. 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 17
- What’s Going On: Master puppeteer Basil twist mixes Japanese puppetry traditions and breathtaking live classical performance in this spectacular stage show for patrons of any age. Using life sized puppets, he and nine other hidden puppeteers tell the story of a love triangle between three magical puppets whose stories emerge amidst the wonder of the Russian carnival.This is the last weekend and tickets are going fast!

AWA'S Homecoming Alumni Visit and Walkathon Kick-off Party
- Where/When: The Animal Welfare Association–509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ. Noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 16
- What’s Going On: Bring your adopted animals on down to the Animal Welfare Association for a best dressed pooch contest (there will be a King and Queen), food and fun. There will be a mini-carnival with a moon bounce, vendor tables, entertainment and AWA’s very own 2011 Paws & Feet Mascot Savannah.
