Get Out: Local Jams, Ghosts and Colin Quinn

This week's Get Out has quite a spread of events, including wineries, outdoor free concerts, ghost hunting, and a play by Colin Quinn.

Who said South Jersey can't be fun? You don't have to go to the shore, or even farther than your own county for some of this week's events. Three of them are even free admission. Enjoy.

Dr. Phil and the Heart Attacks

  • Where/When: James G. Atkinson Memorial Park–Delsea Dr. and Bethel Mill Rd., Sewell, NJ. 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, July 10.
  • What’s Going On: Catch the fun rockabilly, rhythm and blues sounds of these local stars in the great outdoors. Dr. Phil and the Heartattacks bring great songs from the past to life, so bring your lawn chair or blanket and sit a spell. It’s time for the show.

  • What’s Going On: Come out to see FM Band- “THE supreme entertainment band in the Tri-state area”. FM Band is a veteran cover band that brings over seven decades of top 40 hits to West Deptford. Food and drink for sale by Botto’s Italian Line Restaurant.

Ghosts Among Our Graves: Paranormal Investigations of Laurel Hill

  • Where/When: Laurel Hill Cemetery–3822 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia, PA. 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 9.
  • What’s Going On: Join the Free Spirit Paranormal Investigators as they reveal their findings on the cemetery’s paranormal activity! In this other-worldly workshop they will discuss EVPs (electronic voice phenomenon), space weather, ghosty hunting, and more. Follow the FSPI members on group investigations to some of the more active parts of the cemetery, then wrap the evening up with a wine and cheese reception at the gatehouse.

Long Short Story

  • Where/When:Suzanne Roberts Theatre–480 S. Broad St.,
    Philadelphia, PA. 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9. 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 10.
  • What’s Going On: Comical master Colin Quinn tells
    the history of the world in 75 minutes in this satirical play directly from Broadway. Directed by Jerry Seinfeld, hear about everything from Socrates to Snooki in a brash way only Colin Quinn can do.
