Gloucester County Cultural & Heritage Commission Re-Granting 11 Local Organizations

Deptford Twp. – Eleven New Jersey organizations will be awarded over $42,000 through the remainder of 2015 in re-grantee funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, via the Gloucester County Cultural & Heritage Commission. These local arts programs exemplify the ongoing tradition of the state’s flourishing artistic culture, ensuring strong development for years to come.

The majority of the grants will go towards funding community and children’s events, such as October’s Italian Heritage Festival in Gloucester County, the Gloucester County Children’s Choir and the classical music concert series held at the Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church in Sewell.

Also included in this year’s re-grant funding will the be Hispanic Center for Family Service in Gloucester County, which will host two series of six week workshops to showcase the profound influence of Latino artists and their contributions to the community at large. Participants in the parent-child focused workshops, help to create a lasting bonding experience through drawing, sculpting and other forms of artistic expression.

Among the organizations also included in the funding are: the West Deptford Free Public Library; the Woodbury Public Library; Woodbury’s “Art in the Streets” summer outdoor program; the Glassboro Child Development Center; the Center for Family Services; the Gloucester County Parks and Recreation Department Theater Program for children and teens; and The Road Company at the Grand Theater in Williamstown.
