Gloucester County Man Sought In Wildwood Hit-And-Run: Police

WILDWOOD, NJ — Wildwood police have a warrant out for a Franklinville man who ran a woman over and drove off Friday night. Dalton Storms ran over the victim and fled the scene after their vehicles got in an accident, police said.

Police found a 56-year-old Villas woman laying injured in the roadway at about 9:50 p.m. Friday on the 300 block of West Rio Grande Ave. The victim has since been released from the hospital after sustaining multiple injuries. Storms's whereabouts are unknown as of Monday morning.

The woman's vehicle had been struck by a white sports car, witnesses told police. The victim exited her vehicle after the collision, and both drivers got into a verbal altercation, police said. The sports car driver attempted to flee the scene, according to police.

The woman placed herself in front of his vehicle to try to prevent him from leaving, police said. The sports car driver proceeded slowly for several feet, pushing the victim backwards, before accelerating, police said.

The victim was pulled under the sports car and run over by at least one of the vehicle's tires as the driver fled the scene, police said. Investigation revealed the white Dodge Challenger was registered to Storms, 21, of Franklinville, according to police.

Authorities located Storms's vehicle and executed a court-authorized search warrant. Police said found additional evidence that Storms was driving the sports car.

Storms has been charged with aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury, endangering an injured victim and violating a law intended to project public health and safety, police said.
