Here are five family events sure to put a smile on the little one's face this Father's Day weekend.

The Grab and Go Family Planner is back- this time with four outdoor events, and two that are totally free!

Movies in the Park

  • Where/When: New Street Park–Glassboro Cross Keys Road, Glassboro, NJ. 7 p.m. on Friday, June 17.
  • What’s Going On: Join friends and families to watch the family-friendly smash hit Megamind on a giant outdoor screen provided by the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and listen to music by the classic rock cover band Dog Bite Money.
  • Price: free

Alice in Wonderland

  • Where/When: The Broadway Theatre of Pitman–43 S. Broadway, Pitman, NJ. 10 a.m. on Friday, June 17 and 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 18.
  • What’s Going On: Take a trip down the rabbit hole with Alice and the entire zany gang at this whimsical children’s play. Join the Mad Hatter, the Chesire Cat, Queen of Hearts–and of course, Alice–in this mixed up world of fantastic sights and off-kilter thinking.

Juneteenth

  • Where/When: Wing-Dickerson Park–Allen’s Lane, Woodbury. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 18.
  • What’s Going On: Celebrate the oldest-known African-American holiday here in Woodbury. The events of the day will begin with a re-dedication of Wing-Dickerson Park and continue with poetry, re-enactments of local history, crafters, food and children’s activities such as face-painting and story-telling. Enjoy live music from Electric Groiland and Drum Folkloric.

  • What’s Going On: Celebrate this Father’s Day weekend with an all-new kind of scavenger hunt through the city of brotherly love. The Philamazing Race will have you counting flags at the Constitution Center, investigating at the Betsy Ross House, solving clues and having fun! Who will come out the winner in this race around Center City?
  • Price: $40

Invertebrate Adventure

  • Where/When: Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge–4 Saw Mill Rd., Medford, NJ. 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 19.
  • What’s Going On: Trek through the Pinelands with the Wildlife Refuge’s naturalist and explore the life of invertebrates. Check out the Elizabeth Woodford Environmental Education and Nature Center, and some of the other sights in the 184 acre preserve that surrounds Cedar Lake.  
  • Pricing: Adults–$5, children–$3
