Grab and Go Family Planner: Labor Day Weekend

The Grab and Go Family planner features five events for the whole family.

What would a Labor Day weekend be without a few fireworks, some time outside and a little barbeque? Luckily, the Grab and Go Family Planner is back with all three, and more!

Family Camp Weekend

  • Where/When: Camp Ockanickon–1303 Stokes Rd., Medford, NJ. 6 p.m. on Friday, September 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5.
  • What's Going On: Family Camp Weekend is a camping adventure designed for the whole family. Take part in programs like archery, swimming, creative arts, fire building, boating and much more. And for less experienced campers, you can stay in their cabin or lodge.

"Tangled"

  • Where/When: James G. Atkinson Memorial Park–Delsea Dr. & Bethel Mill Rd., Sewell, NJ. 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2.
  • What's Going On: Bring a lawn chair or blanket and check out this clever re-make of the classic tale of Rapunzel on the big screen. After being locked in a tower for most of her life, Rapunzel finally escapes to discover the rest of the world and who she really is. This movie is rated PG and stars the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi.
  • Pricing: Free

Camden Waterfront Backyard BBQ

  • Where/When: Wiggins Waterfront Park–Bottom of Mickle Blvd., Camden, NJ. 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4.
  • What's Going On: This free event features the music of Big Sam's Funky Nation, Cajun and Latin food, and kids' activities. A health and wellness theme will be supported through the day as the Labor Day weekend festivities continue.
  • Pricing: Admission is free.

Fireworks and Fountains

  • Where/When: Longwood Gardens–1001 Longwood Rd., Kennett Square, PA. Garden Hours–9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Fireworks show–8:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3.
  • What's Going On: Enjoy the spectacular diplays of plant life, treehouses and waterfalls, and top it all off with a night of fireworks and an epic fountain show set to music. Guests can start reserving spots to see the show after 3 p.m. and are encouraged to bring a lightweight lawn chair. Blankets are not permitted.
  • Pricing: Ages 15 and under–$22. Ages 16 and up–$38

Backpack Attack

  • Where/When: Garden State Discovery Museum–2040 Springdale Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ. 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3 through Monday, Sept. 5.
  • What's Going On: The summer is almost over. Let the folks at the Garden State Discovery Museum help you and yours get ready for the school year with crafts that will make learning fun.
  • Pricing: $10.95 for adults and children, $9.95 for seniors. All programs are free with the price of admission unless otherwise
    noted.
