Whether you like getting outside, scouring museums, or just dancing around, Patch has got an event for you! Below are five events sure to bring happiness to any family in search of it this weekend.
The Little Mermaid
- Where/When: The Broadway Theatre of Pitman–43 S. Broadway Pitman, NJ. 10 a.m. on Friday, May 20. 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21.
- What’s Going On: Join Arielle, the 16-year-old mermaid, as she takes a magical journey to the world of land-dwellers. Can her friends from under the sea help her get true love’s first kiss from Prince Eric, or will she turn back into a mermaid forever? Catch this lively family play this weekend at the Broadway Theatre of Pitman.

- Where/When: Along Haddon Avenue in Collingswood, NJ–6-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 or Friday, May 20.
- What’s Going On: Attention auto enthusiasts! Feast your eyes on the areas fastest and most fearless classic cars and motorcycles all along Haddon Avenue in Collingswood. This family-friendly event also features music, food, fun and free entry! Visit the website for details on how to register your car or motorcycle to be entered into the evening’s contests.

Dodgeballwish Tournament
- Where/When: Veteran’s Park–Chews Landing Road in Laurel Springs, NJ. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m., and the tournament begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21.
- What’s Going On: Get involved in this fifth annual dodge ball tournament and support the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. Watch as teams test their reflexes and aim in the round robin tournament, or get involved. Teams will be also be awarded prizes for most team spirit! Enjoy musical entertainment, an 80 basket raffle, 50/50, food, and help a good cause.

Hip Hop Dance with Faceless Inc.

- Where/When: Garden State Discovery Museum–2040 Springdale Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ. 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21.
- What’s Going On: This high-energy group of kids ten are known for “wildly entertaining audiences” and showing them the roots of hip hop dancing. This dance team will show you how to focus on the positive as they bring kids up on stage to teach them a few dance moves of their own.
- Pricing: Admission is $10.95 for adults and children 12 months and over and $9.95 for seniors. All programs are free with admission unless otherwise noted.
Family Viking Day
- Where/When: American Swedish Historical Museum–1900 Patterson Ave., Philadelphia, PA. 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 21.
- What’s Going On: Prepare for a Viking invasion! Learn the ancient Runic alphabet, see a 40-foot longship, a Viking encampment, play Viking chess and much more. There will also be art on display that was inspired by the work of the Vikings in a feature entitled "Knitting Along the Viking Trail," featuring knitwear by Scandinavian artist Elsebeth Lavold.
- Pricing: $7 for general admission, youth ages 5-18: $5, members: $5, youth members ages 5-18: $3, children under 5: free
