Grab and Go Kids Planner: The Nearly Free Edition

Spring is here—and for many of you—so are your tax returns! Feeling let down by this year's return? Well, don’t worry. Go to a reasonably priced interactive ballet or one of four free family friendly fun events!  Say that five times fast.

International Pillow Fight Day

• Where/When: Washington Square Park–600 Walnut St., Philadelphia, PA. The event begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 2.
• What’s Going On: Join people of all ages in this large scale, fun-filled pillow fight outside. Participants are encouraged to bring soft pillows (preferably without feathers) and to hide your pillow until the fun begins.
• Pricing: Free

Play-A-Palooza

• Where/When: Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse–N. 33th and Oxford Streets, Philadelphia, PA. The event takes place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2.
• What’s Going On: Have fun on a giant slide, a six-acre playground, and a “kids mansion” at the Smith Kids Play Place in the Park. Children 10 and under along with their caretakers are invited to visit seasonal playground for its re-opening celebration. Enjoy games, activities, crafts and more!
• Pricing: Free

Easter Bunny and Miss Rosa at the Deptford Mall

• Where/When: The Deptford Mall–1750 Deptford Center Rd., Deptford, NJ. Friday, April 1 at 9:30 a.m.
• What’s Going On: Come on out for a love stage show featuring the one and only Miss Rosa from PBS Kids! There will be singing, dancing, and all kinds of fun for kids. After the show you and your little ones can follow Miss Rosa, the Easter Bunny, Curious George and a few friendly Mummers in a parade to Center Court in the mall. Enjoy free face painting, balloon animals and get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny.
• Pricing: The event is free. Pictures with the Easter Bunny cost a nominal fee.

The South Pacific Island Dancers

• Where/When: Greenwich Township Library, Meeting Rooms 1 and 2–411 Swedesboro Rd., Gibbsboro, NJ. 11 a.m. to noon on April 2
• What’s Going On: Enjoy a special performance from a local American Samoan family and their dance school. This event is sponsored by the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association’s Talk Story Initiative.
• Pricing: Free

Sleeping Beauty for Young Audiences

• Where/When: Trinity Center for Urban Life–2212 Spruce St., Philadelphia, PA. 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2.
• What’s Going On: Come witness the music, beauty and majesty of a Sleeping Beauty ballet adapted for younger audiences. Be enchanted by costumes and music from Pages to Pirouttes. Participants can learn dance steps and interact with the cast.
