Gymnastics Coach Sexually Assaulted Teens In South Jersey: Police

Joseph J. Catrambone is accused of assaulting two girls under the age of 13, authorities said.

WILLIAMSTOWN, NJ — A gymnastics coach in South Jersey has been charged with child sexual assault, authorities said. Joseph J. Catrambone, 29, of Deptford Township, has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting two girls under the age of 13 on three different occasions, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. The alleged assaults are said to have taken place at a gymnastics center in Williamstown in October of 2016 and last month.

Cartrambone is also charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of simple assault against one of the girls on March 24, 2017.

Police say he also sexually assaulted the same girl on March 23 at Atlantic Coast Gymnastics, where he was employed.

He was arrested at the prosecutor’s office on April 24, and is being held without bail pending a detention hearing. The Monroe Township Police Department assisted in the investigation.
