Intoxicated Driver Seriously Injures Kids In Fiery South Jersey Crash: Police
The man's charges include 2 counts of child endangerment after he and both his occupants were brought to the hospital, authorities said.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — An intoxicated driver seriously injured several people, including children, and started a fire when he crashed into a pole Thursday in Washington Township, authorities said.
Sean Asman and both of his occupants were brought to Cooper University Hospital in Camden with "serious" injuries, police said. Authorities did not disclose any identifying information about the victims, but Asman's charges include two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Asman fractured his leg, police said.

He crashed his 2008 Toyota Yaris at 5:50 p.m. Thursday on Hurffville Grenloch Road, police said. Their initial investigation found that Asman was driving eastbound when he left the roadway and hit the pole near Quay Park.
Asman, 31, of Audubon, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, two counts of assault by auto and two counts of child endangerment.

Photos from Washington Township police show a fire at the top of a utility pole, around the wiring. Atlantic City Electric worked to restore outages after the crash.
The township has 22 customers without power as of 9 a.m. Friday, according to ACE's outage map. But it's unclear whether any of the outages are related to the crash.
Hurffville Grenloch Road was closed for about 2 hours.
