Little League Outlook: 9-10 Tournament, Pool Play Kicks Off

There's action on the diamond every night this week.

Little League action shifts into high gear this week, as 9- and 10-year-old baseball and softball hold their elimination tournaments and pool play begins for the older baseball crowd.

West Deptford's 9-10 baseball squad faces off against Harrison Township tonight at 6 p.m. in the opening round of the District 15 tournament, with the winner facing either East Greenwich No. 1 or South Harrison in the semifinals at Glassboro Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the 9-10 softball team takes on Harrison at Clayton at 6 p.m., with the winner getting a chance to take on Swedesboro-Woolwich in the District 15 final at Harrison Township on Thursday.

The Junior League softball District 15 tournament also kicks off this week, with West Deptford taking on Gibbstown at Clayton Thursday night at 6 p.m. in the opening round.

In pool play, West Deptford's 11-12 team–the Williamsport-level squad–opens their action tonight at 8 against Oak Valley at home, while the Junior League baseball team heads to Deptford Wednesday at 8 p.m. for its pool play opener.
