HOPEWELL CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NJ — Patch has new details regarding the small plane that crashed in Hopewell just west of Bridgeton a little before 9:45 a.m. Saturday.

The pilot was 62-year-old Thomas Sedeyn of the city of Salem, state police said. Sedeyn was flown to Cooper University Hospital after the crash, where he was in stable condition as of about noon on Wednesday, a hospital spokesperson told Patch.

Sedeyn was flying a single-engine Grumman G-164 crop-dusting aircraft somewhat similar to the one in the picture above when the crash occurred, a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) spokesperson told Patch.

An investigation into the crash is underway by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), a representative of the latter organization told Patch. There are no plans to send an investigator to Hopewell to investigate, the NTSB representative added.
