NJ Man Steals Tow Truck, Drives Into Oncoming Traffic, Injuring 3, Police Say
The tow truck driver fell from the truck during the theft.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 27-year-old New Jersey man stole a tow truck on Monday and proceeded to drive into oncoming traffic, the Washington Township Police Department said.
Dylan Davis was charged with first-degree carjacking, third-degree theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of assault by auto, and driving while intoxicated.
At around 1:50 p.m., officers responded to the area near Delsea Drive and Salina Road for a report of a car crash with injuries.

The driver of a tow truck for Riehl's Towing had stopped along Delsea Drive near the Dollar General store to secure a vehicle on the flatbed.
Davis then got in and drove off. The operator then fell from the truck and was injured.

According to authorities, Davis then drove erratically into oncoming traffic and hit two vehicles head-on along Delsea Drive.
Both of the other drivers were injured and taken to the hospital.
Davis fled the crash site on foot, but was quickly taken into custody by Washington Police Officer Matthew Tucker.
Officers believed Davis was under the influence, and a telephonic search warrant to draw blood was carried out at Cooper University Hospital.
More charges may be filed, the Department added.
