Nolan Jess Provides the Highlights for Green-Fields Swimmers

The only things hotter than the temperatures outside right now are the times Nolan Jess is posting in the pool.

The swimmer is tearing it up so far in the 8-and-under boys’ division, and did it again Saturday against Pheasant Run.

Swimming up an age bracket, Jess broke a club and Tri-County record in the 25-meter breaststroke, clocking a 20.06 to erase the old Tri-County record of 20.36 and break the club record he set just two weeks ago in the process.

The Sea Turtles as a whole couldn’t keep up with the Flyers, though, dropping a 311-241 decision.

Besides’ Jess’ individual performance, Green-Fields’ performance was highlighted by a sweep of first place across all events for the 8-and-under boys and four individual and two relay sweeps.

Double Winners:

8-and-under boys:

• Dylan McQuade - 25-meter Breast, 25-meter Fly
• Nolan Jess: 25-meter breaststroke (swimming up in the 9- and 10-year-old boys’ division), 25-meter backstroke 

9- and 10-year-old girls:

• Sarah Schollenberger: 50-meter freestyle, 25-meter butterfly

9- and 10-year-old boys:

• Relays: Peyton Ward (freestlye and medley), Nolan Jess (medley), Shane Washart (freestlye and medley), Garrett Knechtel (freestlye and medley), Merrick Nowak (freestyle)

13- and 14-year-old girls:

• Relays: Annie Hughes, Lucienne Nowak, Trisha Baud, Samantha Armano
• Trisha Baud: 100-meter freestyle, 50-meter butterfly
• Lucienne Nowak: 100-meter IM, 50-meter breaststroke (swimming up in the 15- to 18-year-old girls’ division)

13- and 14-year-old boys:

• Luke Snyder: 50-meter backstroke, 50-meter breaststroke
