Ogozalek's Switch Means Solicitor Position Back Out to Bid
West Deptford's current solicitor is changing firms, and the township is opening the position to make sure the transition is handled correctly.

A switch in firms by West Deptford’s solicitor and a technicality in how the made the appointment has the position back out to bid ahead of that move.
Because of how the position is listed—with the firm of Capehart Scatchard ahead of the individual attorney—Mayor Ray Chintall said they’re taking the measures to ensure the position is handled correctly during the transition.
“We’re going to put it out there and see what happens,” he said.

Current solicitor Anthony Ogozalek Jr. is making the move effective at the end of June, leaving Capehart Scatchard to form his own partnership with two other attorneys, which is still being finalized.
The requests for qualifications for solicitor went out Thursday, and are due back June 21, ahead of Ogozalek’s switch, though the position wouldn’t likely be voted on until the first township committee meeting in July, which is slated for July 5.

There’s a good chance there will be continuity at the position, as Ogozalek said his new firm is submitting a proposal. He said he doesn’t foresee any issues with the current contract with Capehart Scatchard.
“Hopefully I’m going to get it again, but until the vote on July 5, we don’t know,” Ogozalek said.
