One Book, One College: Author Benjamin Ludwig Visits RCSJ

“Ginny Moon” author, Benjamin Ludwig, visited the Luciano Theatre of the Guaracini Performing Arts Center on Rowan College of South Jersey’s Cumberland campus on Wednesday, Oct. 16, to discuss his debut novel with students, faculty, staff and community residents.

One of the highlights of the One Book, One College program is an on-campus visit by the featured author. Now in its 16th year, the college’s successful One Book, One College program was designed to connect the campus and the community to promote reading for pleasure, critical thinking, global awareness and multicultural understanding. Each years’ selections have proven popular with area book clubs as well.

“Ginny Moon” was a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers selection, and named one of the 20 Best Books of 2017 by Amazon. To date, “Ginny Moon” has been published in 18 countries.

In this endearing novel, Ludwig tells the story of a journey, about being an outsider trying to find a place to belong, and about making sense of a world that just doesn’t seem to add up. The book was inspired partly by Ludwig’s own experience of adopting a teenager with autism.

A lifelong teacher of English and writing, Ludwig lives in New Hampshire with his family. He holds a master’s degree in English education and a MFA in creative writing. Currently he writes full-time, and serves as a mentor for the AWP mentorship program, Writer to Writer.
