Outstanding Achievement Awards Given to 45th Basic Police Academy graduates

Deptford Twp – Outstanding Achievement awards were presented to 12 graduates of the 45th Basic Police Class of the Gloucester County Police Academy on Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the Physical Education Center on the campus of Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC).

Thirty-five men and women graduated with fanfare and good wishes, marking the completion of their 19-week training session. Police Academy Director Fred H. Madden welcomed guests, with opening remarks provided by Dr. Linda Martin, vice president of Academic Services and Board of Trustees Chairman Gene Concordia. The keynote address was presented by Capt. Robert Borkowski, of the Washington Township Police Department.

Following the presentation of diplomas, achievement awards were presented to the following graduates:

Class leader Christopher J. Puglisi, Vineland, earned the Division of Criminal Justice Merit and Special Dedication Awards.

Winslow Township’s Bryan N. Cohen received the Academic, Director’s and Physical Training Awards.

The Physical Training Award was also presented to Lawrence S. Achey (Washington Township); Timothy R. Arroyo (Salem County Sheriff’s Department); Paul A. Crozier (Washington Township); Alexander Hunter III, (Vineland); Justin R. Levari (Vineland); Wayne Maiden Jr. (Carneys Point); Timothy W. Raker (New Jersey Division of Fish & Wildlife); and Brandon A. Thomas (Willingboro).

Edward G. Kloepping (Salem County Sheriff’s Office) received the Firearms Award.

The Vehicle Operations Award was presented to Ryan C. Golden (Harrison Township).

The 35 graduates represented Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties, as well as the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife.

The Gloucester County Police Academy operates as an autonomous unit within RCGC’s Division of Law and Justice.

Rowan College at Gloucester County is located on a 250-acre campus on Tanyard Road, Deptford, just off Exit 56 of Route 55.
