Patch Picks: Summer Camps

Here's a look at local and regional options, depending on your kids' interests.

1. West Deptford Little Theater: For 37 years, it's been the local summer music, theater and dance program. And it's not just for kids, thanks to summer community theater.

2. Tall Pines Day Camp: Think of it as the traditional day camp experience: horseback riding, swimming, ceramics, crafts, you name it. Tall Pines has a half-day program for 3- and 4-year-olds, and full day camps for preschoolers through sixth grade.

3. Phillies Baseball Academy: With camps in Cherry Hill and Moorestown, your kids get the choice of various baseball and softball programs, from beginner to advanced. Several of the camps include a tour of Citizens Bank Park.

4. Appel Farm Arts Camp: A different take on the arts camp experience, Appel Farm offers your kids the chance to choose from majors–everything from photography to dance to recording arts–and minors, which fill five hours each day, plus workshops, free time and more.

5. PAFA Summer Academy for High School Students: An advanced arts program for teens interested in drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking, PAFA's summer academy offers college-level courses, tours of museums and visits to artists' studios throughout the summer.
