Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Front Of South Jersey Hospital: Police
The victim had just been treated at the hospital.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A person treated at a South Jersey hospital was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday night in front of the medical facility, authorities said.
The vehicle hit the pedestrian at about 8:25 p.m. on the roadway in front of Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, police said.
Police identified the pedestrian, George H. West, through his Jefferson Hospital medical ID band. His age has not been released.

First-arriving officers administered CPR, but West was later pronounced dead at Jefferson Hospital.
According to the preliminary investigation, a black Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Hurffville-Cross Keys Road. The driver struck West near Regulus Drive — by the hospital's parking lot entrance — police said.

Police didn't say whether the driver remained on-scene. Patch contacted officials with questions and will update as more information becomes available.
For about two hours, Hurffville-Cross Keys Road was closed as authorities investigated the scene.

It was the second time in roughly a week that a pedestrian was struck and killed in Washington Township. A hit-and-run that killed a man Nov. 4 on Fries Mill Road remains under investigation.
