Hit-And-Run Kills Man In South Jersey Roadway: Police
The driver accused of hitting a pedestrian has not been identified as of Tuesday morning.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian Monday night in Washington Township is under investigation.
Police responded at about 8 p.m. after an unknown vehicle struck John DeMarco on Fries Mill Road and Adele Drive. The driver fled the scene, authorities said.
DeMarco, 58, of Turnersville, was brought to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle struck DeMarco in the southbound lane of Fries Mills Road while he was walking in the roadway, police said.
Police haven't identified the driver, and no information about the suspect vehicle has been released as of 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Fries Mill Road was closed for about 2 hours during the on-scene investigation.
