RCGC Nursing Program Boasts Highest Pass Rate in NJ

Deptford Twp. – Nursing students at Rowan College at Gloucester County celebrated a significant achievement in 2014, earning the highest pass rate of all accredited colleges and universities in the state for the third quarter.

Graduates passed with a remarkable 95-plus percent success rate, easily the highest in New Jersey during the year among applicable institutions with at least 15 students. The figures were reported by the State of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety division of Consumer Affairs and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Rates are attributed to students passing the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN).

After passing the examination, the RCGC nursing program gives students a direct path to “five major employment settings for RNs,” including: hospitals, nursing homes, community and public health, nursing education and ambulatory settings.

Dr. Susan Hall, Dean of the Nursing and Allied Health Division notes that despite how challenging the curriculum may be, there’s a myriad of factors why RCGC has put together such a successful nursing program.

For prospective students, Hall urges permitting a lot of time to plan, study, and focus on completing the course work. The figures for 2014, however, prove that all that energy is more than worth it.
