RCGC Signs Agreement with Deptford High for Spartan School of Business

The new program will allows juniors and seniors to earn early college credits.

Deptford Twp. – On Monday, April 13, Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) signed an agreement with Deptford High School, which will provide junior and senior students the opportunity to take business courses as members of the Spartan School of Business.

This partnership establishes a smooth pathway for students interested in pursuing a post-secondary degree in business. In January, the new option was unveiled to eighth- and ninth-grade students and their parents. To date, 29 students are enrolled in the program, which begins in September with the freshmen class.

Through the Spartan School of Business, students will be offered nine courses that include the following: Introduction to Business, Principles of Marketing, Social Media & Internet Marketing, Computer Information Systems, Fundamentals of Programming, Spreadsheets — Excel, Business Communications, Introduction to Economics and Principles of Economics I. Junior and senior students will take the classes on the RCGC campus.

“Rowan College is pleased to announce the creation of this higher education partnership and the opportunities the Spartan School of Business will provide to students in our host community,” said Dr. Frederick Keating, college president. “By working together, Rowan College and Deptford High School are able to offer students access to a quality, affordable education as they work towards their career goals.”

“We sincerely appreciate the continuing partnership with Rowan College at Gloucester County and the opportunity to explore careers for our students and their parents,” stated Deptford Township School District Interim Superintendent Paul Spaventa.

Rowan College at Gloucester County is located at 1400 Tanyard Road in Deptford, just off Exit 56 of Route 55.
