Rowan College Animal Advocates Bring in Holiday Pet Shelter Donations
Over the past few months, the Animal Advocates Club at Rowan College at Gloucester County has beengathering donations for local shelters.
Deptford Twp. – During the past two months, the Animal Advocates Club at Rowan College at Gloucester County has been collecting donations for six local animal shelters. This is the fourth year that the college community has come together to contribute a variety of pet items, such as food, towels, toys, beds and cleaning products for their four-footed friends. Pet-loving community neighbor Hot Diggity Dog on Salina Road in Sewell also provided shelter donations.
Club Advisor Melissa Norbeck (right) and student Alyssa Jackson (left) helped to organize this year’s drive, filling three car loads with pet supplies and making deliveries on Dec. 9 to the Gloucester and Camden County Animal Shelters, Animal Welfare Association and Animal Orphanage in Voorhees, Animal Adoption Center in Lindenwold and Salem County Humane Society.
“Everyone is so generous and giving during the holidays, and it is very refreshing to see. I hope what we did here at the college inspires others to get creative and find a way to give back to the animals,” said Jackson, who previously volunteered at the Animal Adoption Center in Lindenwold.
