Rowan College Celebrates Senator Steve Sweeney, Person Of The Year
Rowan College will host its first gala since its name change from Gloucester County College Wed., May 6.

Deptford Twp. – Rowan College at Gloucester County celebrates the College’s first gala under its new name on Wednesday, May 6, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Adelphia’s Ballroom in Deptford. The College’s Foundation Gala will recognize New Jersey State Senate President Steve Sweeney as Rowan College’s Person of the Year.
Sweeney, a longtime advocate for higher education, has been tireless in his dedication to the Gloucester County community. His vision, leadership and commitment to make higher education more affordable have been instrumental in facilitating a unique partnership between Gloucester County College and Rowan University, creating an innovative, first-of-its-kind model for community colleges in New Jersey.
This year’s affair will be the Foundation’s primary fundraising event and promises to be an enjoyable evening of dining, dancing and entertainment with friends and colleagues — all to support student scholarships. Attendees will enjoy a cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres, in addition to a buffet dinner, dancing and a selection of silent-auction items.
