Rowan College at Gloucester County Nursing Grads Get Pinned
Twenty-four women and men dedicated to pursuing a career in nursing celebrated their educational accomplishments on May 15.

Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) faculty and administration joined family and friends on Monday, May 15, to applaud the 24 men and women who have dedicated the past two years to pursuing a career in nursing. Prepared to take on the challenges and responsibilities of their new vocation, the Nurses’ Pinning Ceremony celebrates the educational accomplishments of students who have chosen a career dedicated to helping others.
“You are graduating from the best nursing program in New Jersey. You are the best of the best,” RCGC President Frederick Keating told the 2017 nursing class, noting that the College’s RN program was ranked top in the state according to a recent study conducted by RegisteredNursing.org.
Janelle Redmond of Pitman announced the names of her fellow nurses as Dr. Susan Hall, dean of Nursing and Allied Health, pinned each of the graduates. Following the pinning ceremony, the future nurses held candles while reciting the Nightingale Pledge, named in honor of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
