Wanted Suspects Followed Couple Home, Robbed Them At Gunpoint In South Jersey: Police
The victims had just driven home from Philadelphia when they were ambushed in their driveway, authorities said.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A South Jersey couple was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night after authorities say the wanted suspects followed the victims home from Philadelphia, authorities said.
The armed robbery happened around 11:30 p.m. outside the victims' home on Eton Drive in Washington Township, police said. They had just returned from The Ritz-Carlton in Philadelphia.
The unidentified suspects, who remain at large as of Monday afternoon, waited for the victims to park in their driveway and then ambushed them, police said.

One suspect struck the man in the head with a handgun while demanding his Rolex watch and wallet, police said. The other held the woman at gunpoint and ordered her to remain silent, according to law enforcement.
They stole a Rolex watch, wallet, multiple credit cards and cash, police said. The male victim sustained injuries to his head and elbow but later declined medical treatment at the scene.

The suspects — described as Black men wearing dark clothing and masks — then ran from the scene and entered a getaway vehicle that was waiting at Eton and Joseph drives, police said. The vehicle fled the neighborhood toward Fries Mills Road.
Police received a 911 call about the incident at 11:33 p.m. Sunday. The first-arriving officer reached the scene within two minutes.
Officers searched the area, deploying K-9s and drones, but the suspects got away. Police later recovered surveillance footage from multiple homes that captured the incident and the suspects' flight.
License-plate readers confirmed that the suspect vehicle was trailing the victims' car at 11:20 p.m. as they entered Washington Township, police said. At that time, they were on Route 42 South by TGI Fridays.
The vehicle followed the victims as they turned onto Fries Mill Road traveled toward the Crofton Run development, where the victims live. It was later tracked exiting Washington Township on Route 42 North near the NJ Transit bus garage, police said.
The suspect vehicle had a paper temporary license plate that wasn't on file. A description of the vehicle wasn't immediately available.
Washington Township police are actively investigating the robbery, sending detectives to Philadelphia on Monday.
Additional patrols have been added to the area of the robbery, police said.
