South Jersey Man Hits It Big With Pick-6 Jackpot Win

Edward Crosby won more than $8 million in annuity and more than $6 million cash in the July 4 drawing.

A Gloucester County man who plays the lottery every week has hit it big.

Edward Crosby, of Monroeville, hit the biggest Pick-6 Jackpot of the year when he won $8,682,597 annuity value and a $6,642,905 cash value for the July 4 drawing, New Jersey Lottery announced Wednesday morning.

The Crosby’s discovered that they were winners when their daughter called to say that the Buck Road Mini Mart sold the winning ticket. She knew there was a very good chance the big winner was her dad.

Crosby spends $19 playing the lottery every week at the mini mart. He buys one ticket for each game draw: Mega Millions, $2 total; Pick-6, $2 total; Powerball, $4 total; Jersey Cash 5, $7 total; and CASH4LIFE $4 total.

“I told Robbie (the gas station attendant) a long time ago that this gas station is going to hit and it happened,” Crosby said.

Crosby’s daughter posted the winning numbers on Facebook and Edward recognized his numbers immediately. His wife, Dorothy, was in disbelief until Edward confirmed it at the Mini Mart.

The winning numbers for the Monday, July 4 drawing were: 02, 12, 16, 17, 29 and 34. The XTRA Multiplier was: 02.

After 39 years as a chemical operator, Edward Crosby is now retired. Dorothy Crosby is a homemaker and caregiver to her seven grandchildren.

Edward Crobsy’s plan is to, “Take care of the kids as much as I can and put away the rest for retirement.”

He added: “We are going take the entire family to Disney!”
