Man Critically Injured After Getting Hit By Train In South Jersey

He was hit by a cargo train and flown to the hospital, authorities said.

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man was critically injured after getting struck by a cargo train Thursday night in Gloucester County, officials said.

A northbound train hit the man at about 7:10 p.m. in Franklin Township, according to local police. Officers found him lying on the railroad tracks by Porchtown Road and Royal Avenue.

The man — a 39-year-old Franklinville resident — was flown to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition, according to the Franklin Township Police Department.
