West Deptford High School Softball Program Wins 2nd South Jersey Title
The Eagles continue their quest for a state title at Rowan on Tuesday.

West Deptford, NJ -- The West Deptford High School softball program has a champion for the first time in 20 years.
The top-seeded Eagles defeated No. 2 Sterling, 4-1, to win the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 title on Thursday, according to nj.com.
Winning pitcher Paige Schlecter fanned four and gave up five hits and one run in the win, according to the report.

Jess Linquist put West Deptford on the board in the third inning with an RBI double. In the fourth, Allison Gallagher added an RBI double and Emily Engles had an RBI single.
The Eagles will play Central Jersey Group 2 champion Johnson in a state semifinal at Rowan University on Tuesday. It has been 20 years since West Deptford won its only South Jersey and state titles, according to the report.

West Deptford opened the playoffs with a 15-0 win over No. 16 Collingswood.
It then defeated No. 9 Middle Township, 12-4, in the quarterfinals.
The Eagles then squeaked past No. 4 Cinnaminson, 9-8, in the semifinals.
