West Deptford Man, 84, Dies Due To Coronavirus

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — An 84-year-old man has died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Gloucester County officials announced on Wednesday.

He is the 24th West Deptford resident and 301st Gloucester County resident to die after testing positive for the virus. The county also announced that a 79-year-old Washington Township woman, a 70-year-old Washington Township man, a 75-year-old Monroe Township man and a 92-year-old Deptford man have also died.

The county also announced 174 new cases on Wednesday, bringing the county's total to 10,957 since the beginning of the pandemic. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.

As of Wednesday, there have been 689 cases of the coronavirus and 21 deaths in West Deptford since the beginning of the pandemic. The following information is available concerning the new cases identified in West Deptford on Wednesday:

• A 63-year-old woman;
• Two 27-year-old women;
• A 15-year-old boy;
• A 17-year-old boy;
• A 44-year-old man;
• A 23-year-old woman;
• Two 83-year-old women;
• A 39-year-old woman;
• A 13-year-old girl;
• A 33-year-old woman; and
• A 24-year-old man.

As of Wednesday, Gloucester County has conducted 102,890 total tests. Of these cases, 91,933 have come back negative.

Gloucester County is expecting the number of cases to increase. Officials remind residents that social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.
