Spending,Tax Increase Part Of West Deptford Schools' 2022-23 Budget
The proposed budget for 2022-23 totals $55,165,705, the district said.
WEST DEPTFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ — The proposed budget for West Deptford Township schools for the 2022-23 school year totaled $55,165,705, which would be a 5.3 percent increase from 2021-22, the district said.
The spending plan in 2021-22 totaled $52,387,482, the West Deptford School District said.
The district's board must approve the budget before it goes into effect.

The 2022-23 proposed budget included the following, according to the district.
- Holding summer enrichment catch-up camps for all grade levels.
- Hiring and supporting a full-time elementary guidance counselor.
- Bringing a pre-kindergarten disability teacher into the district.
- Providing busing to some district students in 2022-23 in preparation for providing it to all district students in 2023-24.
- Conducting ongoing facilities maintenance.
- Continuing all current instructional programs.
The budget would increase property taxes by about $65.51 for a homeowner whose house is assessed at $200,259, according to the district.
