West Deptford Water May Change Colors This Week: Here's Why

Officials suggest avoiding doing laundry, unless outside the listed hours.

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — If you think the water in your home looks a bit different this week, it's likely not your imagination.

The West Deptford Water & Sewer Department is flushing fire hydrants from Monday through Friday in order to maintain water quality and check that the distribution system is functioning properly.

The operations are being done from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., with some areas potentially needing further morning hours.

During this time, water in homes may be discolored or contain sediment.

Tap water should be run for a few minutes at a cold temperature in order to clear the remnants.
